The Wonders of Butyrate

An Energy Medicine Short Summary

Did you know that there is a substance that can reduce your swollen belly?

What most people do not realize is that glyphosate or the herbicide Round-up causes leaky gut. Also taking antibiotics whether by prescription of by eating animal foods that were feed antibiotics will destroy your gut bacteria for up to two years. When partially digested foods pass through your leaky gut it causes a histamine release, which causes swelling or as some people refer to it as a beer belly.

The magic substance that I am referring to is found in small amounts in butter. It’s a short chain saturated fatty acid called Butyrate or butyric acid. This fatty acid helps heal up your leaky gut.

Butyrate has many benefits:

  • Supporting gut function
  • Providing the main energy source for colon cells
  • Reducing inflammation
  • Regulating the immune system
  • Promoting the growth of new gut cells
  • Supporting digestion
  • Having a role in immunity and metabolism
  • Reducing the risk of certain chronic diseases, including obesity, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes.
  • Supports healthy blood pressure levels
  • Combat brain fog and improve sleep

Certain foods are high in butyrates.

  • Butter
  • Ghee
  • Goat cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Whole milk, cream, and full-fat yogurt (dairy- derived)
  • Cooked and cooled potatoes, rice, pasta, oats, beans, legumes, and whole grains
  • Raw green bananas, potatoes, and plantains

You can also obtain butyrate by taking a supplement. The one I recommend is Tri-Butyrin Supreme. It’s available at the International Center for Nutritional Research. Remember your gut represents 60 to 80% of your immune system and there is a direct connection between your colon and brain. Butyrate represents a major missing link to the healing equation and one that we all should be taking.
